Hace tiempo que monté y pinté un recast que compre en
E2046 de esta preciosa
Wildcat, pero aún me faltaban un par de detalles para acabarla. Quería hacerle un pequeño sombrero de copa (descarté el que traía por defecto, no me gustaba) y acortar el bastón y pintarlo.
Le hice una base personalizada, como una acera de piedra de alguna calle estilo Inglaterra del siglo XVIII, pero aún me falta pegarla a la base de madera y ponerle un poco de polvo por allí y allá y también algunos hierbajos para darle mas realismo. He aquí una foto de como esta Wildcat actualmente ^^!

It's been a long time since I built up and painted this recast from E2046, she's the cute Wildcat, but I have still many details and touch ups to do before finishing her... I wanted to build a small gibet hat for her (I discarded the original one, I didn't like it) and I wanted to shorten her cane and paint it.
I made a custom base for her, I wanted it to look like a stone-street from somewhere in England (XVIII century or so), but I have yet to glue it to the wooden base and add some dust here and there and also some dry grass between the stones to add more realism. Here's a photo of how she looks right now ^^!
Hoy finalmente me he decidido a empezar a moldear el sombrero. He buscado algunas fotos y creo que le puede quedar bien, al eliminar el otro sombrerito ha quedado con una sola oreja lo que queda un poco raro, así que el sombrero solucionará el problema.

Today I finally made my mind and started building her hat. I made some research for photos and I think it will look ok on her...When I removed the other hat she was left one-eared and that's a bit strange for a cat, the hat will fix the problem.

He empezado con una tira de cartulina y celo y lo he colocado alrededor de un rotulador gordo que tenía por aquí y que tenía el diámetro justo que yo quería.
Luego he cogido mi masilla Aves Apoxie Sculpt y he mezclado dos pequeñas bolitas, con un poco de agua he ido estirando la masilla sobre la cartulina en el rotulador.

I've started with a strip of cardboard with some tape and I've placed it around a big marker that I had lying around here (it had the diameter I wanted).
Then I mixed a little amount of my fave putty (Aves Apoxie Sculpt) and smoothed it with wet fingers around the cardboard over the marker.
Para que quedara uniforme y lisa la he rodado ejerciendo un poco de presión sobre un cartón cubierto con un plástico. He mojado un poco la superficie antes para que no se pegara y rodara fácilmente.
He esperado unas horas a que endureciera ligeramente y he cortado las partes sobrantes, ahora solo queda esperar a que se endurezca y cure para seguir dándole forma :)

To make it uniform and even, I rolled it with a little pressure over a cardboard covered with a plastic sheet (I wet the surface so the putty doesn't stick to it).
Wait a few hours and cut out the remaining putty around the cardboard, and this is what I've got for now... Now I have to wait for it to be fully dry and cured so I can keep working on the shape :)
Con más cartón he hecho un circulo a modo de tapa y la he recubierto con más masilla para darle la forma del sombrero. Creo que está quedando un poco grande...quiza afinando un poco la parte inferior del sombrero puedo solucionar esto...pero...será un chollo cambiar esa parte...

I've made the top circle out of cardboard too and covered it with more putty to shape it like the hat should be. I think maybe it's too big for her...I should make it thinner on the lower part to fix it...or...I don't know...It will be a real pain to re-do it.

¿Os parece que sea demasiado grande..? Como ella es tan delgada alomejor debería rehacer el sombrero mas delgado también...
